One of the first things that many new tenants ask when they move in to their new home is 'please can I put some of my pictures on the walls?'. While many people like their walls unencumbered, others feel that pictures make a house into a home. As a Property Manager, I advise owners to leave the old-fashioned picture hooks on the walls when redecorating so that tenants are not tempted to put up the 'removable stick-on hooks' which tend to pull the new paint off the walls and thereby damage what is a nice clean wall. By leaving one or two hooks, the temptation to cover the wall with hooks is removed. And when a house becomes a home, a good tenant will stay for longer.
