Is your rental property vacant?

All for a measly $50 at the scrap metal yard!.

Recently, one of my rental properties was vacant as we were between tenants, and the owner had decided to do a few minor renovations.

Sadly he turned up one morning to find that thieves had removed all the copper from the exterior of the property, leaving him with a bill in excess of $2000 to replace it all. Panic ensued as the new tenants were taking up residence in 4 days time! Luckily, our plumber came to the rescue.

Please remember to secure a vacant property and if it is going to be vacant for a length of time, inform your insurer, as terms and conditions can change when properties are vacant.

Beware - thieves are about!
